Mr. Ferhat ABUL is one of the founders of FG Maritime Ltd. and today working as the managing partner. He has vast experience in repair shipyard, classification society and ship management company. Below is his career path prior to establishing FG Maritime Ltd:

Shipyard(Tuzla/Turkey)-3 years
Project engineer:  Responsible for all types of repair activities in dry-dock and during berth repairs. The first point of contact for the customers and managing all sub-contractors during the repair period.

DNV(Turkey, Spain, Norway)-10 years
Senior Surveyor/Auditor for ships in operation: Periodical class and statutory surveys on various types of vessels. Occasional surveys such as hull and machinery damage & repair surveys, sale surveys, condition assessment surveys. ISM & ISPS auditor, MLC inspector. Both shipboard and company ISO 9001 and 14001 auditor.
Offshore surveyor:  Main class and statutory surveys on offshore units such as semi-submersible rigs, drilling ships, supply vessels, seismic vessels in Black Sea, Mediterranean and Caspian Seas.
Newbuilding Surveyor: Survey team member for hull inspections, pre-fabrication inspections, witnessing commissioning phases of different types of machineries and systems, attendance in sea trials during NB projects.
Fleet in service deputy team leader: Deputy team leader of ships in operation department for coordinating the daily/weekly programs of 12 surveyors, dealing with survey requests all around Turkey. Responsible for coordinating the workload of the team and communicating with customers as the point of contact prior to all scheduled surveys.
QHSE and Business Development Manager: Point of contact for about 20 different shipping companies in Turkey for any kind of owners’ and managers’ business needs. Duties covered the area “Black and Caspian Sea countries” such as Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.

Zenith Gemi Isletmeciligi AS/Turkey – 3.5 Years
(Subsidiary of Scorpio Ship Management)
Quality assurance and training director in the tanker fleet with following main responsibilities:

  • Internal and external audits(ship and shore)
  • Review of reports issued by internal and external auditors; handling of findings
  • TMSA reviews
  • Incident investigations
  • Periodic review of company procedures, guidelines and make necessary changes, amendments
  • Support fleet departments with any inquiry related to quality
  • Preparation of quarterly and yearly statistics for company KPIs
  • Delivering relevant trainings to ship and shore staff as a qualified trainer and marine assesor
  • Ensuring the quality of crew competency in the fleet

Mr. Gökhan DEMİRCİLER is one of the founders of FG Maritime Ltd and today working as the managing partner. He has vast experience in repair shipyard and classification society. Below is his career path prior to establishing FG Maritime Ltd:

Shipyard(Tuzla/Turkey)-4 years
Steel work and outfitting engineer: Responsible for the steel and outfitting repairs, conversion projects field engineer.
Project engineer: Responsible for all types of repair activities in dry-dock and during berth repairs. The first point of contact for the customers and managing all sub-contractors during the repair period.

DNV(Turkey)-15 years
Principal Surveyor/Auditor for ships in operation: Periodical class and statutory surveys on various types of vessels. Occasional surveys such as hull and machinery damage & repair surveys, sale surveys, condition assessment surveys. ISM & ISPS auditor, MLC inspector. Both shipboard and company ISO 9001 and 14001 auditor.. Class entry and Change of Flag surveys of vessels. One of the main contact point of national customers for execution of survey requirements, involvement with customer needs of future requirements and its implementation. Being part of various projects for rule development and changes within entity. Mentoring surveyors both at field and office for continuation of quality minded surveys & decision making.
Flying squad surveyor: Attending sub-standard vessels for further evaluation of vessel condition and ensuring compliance with Class/Statutory Rules & Regulations.
Newbuilding Surveyor: Survey team member for hull inspections, pre-fabrication inspections, witnessing commissioning phases of different types of machineries and systems, attendance in sea trials during NB projects.

Activity Monitor and Verifier: Carrying out activity monitoring of surveyors and auditors for the continuation of their competencies and ensuring fulfillment of entity’s regulations. Verification of surveys and survey reports for the compliance of entity requirements and Class/Statutory interpretations. Mentoring and guiding to technical staff.

In addition to Mr. Abul and Mr. Demirciler, both being the key persons on site and managing the projects, FG Maritime has also other experts in the team with different professional backgrounds. FG Maritime has mutual agreements with freelance inspectors and surveyors, naval architects, ex-captains and chief engineers as well as engineering teams to fulfil all customer needs and expectations at anytime and anywhere globally. While the project is up and running, regardless of the person in charge, the quality of services is being regularly audited and results are reported to the customer on daily basis by the executive team of FG Maritime.
